lol thats around the corner from my house. he was probably coming the opposite way and lost it around the bend in the wet. its a bad corner, off camber quite a bit and gets way slippery when it rains. i was following a p plater chick in a little barina who slid off the road and up onto the house on the corners lawn. she did a bit of a rally drift over the lawn and drove back down over the gutter and kept goin. didnt even slow her down. i was cracking up for ages
Haha, that's great! Yeah, I'm always careful on that bend, even in the dry - although that's partly because the road feels narrow with parked cars and I often see people cross the lines. I can't believe how fast some people try to go around there in the wet, but I guess not everyone really understands the difference road camber makes.
Yep some cars fly around the bend. the roundabout near the lights is slippery as well. even my missus used to slide around it when she drove my old SSV. it was hilarious to watch cause she'd **** herself, and i'd laugh for ages cause i normally only let her drive when i was pissed, and things are infinately more entertaining when drunk
Yeah, that roundabout is especially scary on the bike, especially since I've only been riding a short while and it does my head in trying to cut close to the roundabout to avoid the oil streaks and runoff, but not so close that I end up on top of it . A few other ones I've found (in the car) that are REALLY slippery are the one at the Palmdale turn-off at Ourimbah (next to the F3), that one's been slippery for years and when I did my P's test on the bike, a lady on a scooter came off when she was doing a U-turn there. Another one is the one near the Lisarow Maccas, the one near Wyoming Maccas (really bad camber), the one at the turn-off down to Avoca coming out of Kincumber, the roundabout near Kincumber Maccas... The list just seems to go on! But these ones are the ones that always stick in my head as ones that have either worried me or I've seen other people have trouble on. Quite possibly the greatest road improvement I've seen though is the sharpest corner on Woy Woy Rd in the 80 zone - north of the lookout after the straight, it used to be a shocking corner with bad road surface and negative camber, a couple of years back it was totally resurfaced, camber is now positive, it's smooth and flat and it's exactly what they should have done in the first place .
They were, they went through a Red, just missed it completely. Car did it's job, didn't feel that much of a hit to be honest.
Bet ya would have felt it if you were in some old skool, real steel, built like they use to ,no airbag (did the airbag go off ?) no abs, lead sled
Yeah even if we were in the mrs lancer coupe I'm sure it would of hurt a whole lot more. Airbags didn't go off, guess that shows the hit wasn't that hard.
