The damn thing won't get louder !!!

Well, it's like this...i have a 04 VY SS series 2, and the radio won't get really loud.
If i change the speakers, will it get louder than standard?

Or will i have to change the head unit?

Have you turned off the anti distortion mode in the trip computer?

You can start by just installing an aftermarket head-unit....this will give you abit more power to the speakers, and should increase the volume level. If thats not enough then you'll need to replace the speakers with higher quality ones.

You upp the power going to the speakers, and you kill them. They VY ones are rubbish, i've got 4 sitting on my desk here rated at 15w max, aftermarket headunit runs 50w max.
To do it properly, you'd wanna change the speakers over. whether you amp them or use a new headunit, is up to you!
