Ever watched a front wheel drive car trying to pull a trailer or caravan in the wet? Massive wheelspin, little steering control and virtually no progress. Loading an FWD ute with a load in the rear tray would lead to the same result. It won't work. That's why commercial vehicles, trucks, pick-ups and those damned Thai-builts are all RWD.
Compare a new hilux (which sell like hotcakes) to an MQ/MK/GQ/GU patrol ute or a cruiser ute and then tell me who's the the wanna be.
The IFS 4wd utes basically suck as a real forby, and aren't all that comfortable compared to a falcodore. Storage space and load capacity is as good on a falcon tray, better still than a dual cab.
Not everyone goes and buys a HSV for a work ute.
The reason they are stopping production of the Holden ute is because the HOLDEN Ute is not selling anymore.
It does not mention the HSV. Whether HSV sells Malloos or not, is irrelevant to whether Holden continues production of the Ute. If Malloos were not selling, HSV would cut them from the range.
