Hi: Well my friend bought the G-8 tonight here in Toronto,Canada !!! It is a 1SB Sport Red Metallic V-6. The deal is as follows(All discounts Included):$26,307 for the car,$1,775 for a 5/160,000km's GMPP with $100 deductible,$249 for road hazard Warr.,$199 for fabric protection(Incl rip,burn pro),$599 for each of paint protection and rust protection for a total out the door of $33,148. They gave him a discount of $2,818 off the 1SB package+ the $7500 in GM incentives,plus he had a $1,000 after tax coupon from GM is how the deal discounts break down.So a big thanks to all who offered helpful advice on this forum will post pics when possible(A couple of weeks car will be kept stock) as won't pick up until Monday night.Now to see how it stands up compared to the Grand Prix's he has owned in the past!

I thought the G8 was only the 8 cylinders i.e. the equivalent to our SS's here?
Is it still called a G8 when it has a V6?

The standard G8 is a V6 (aequiv to SV6). I think the G8 GT (V8) is the SS equiv.

I thought the same thing until about a week ago when I was discussing this on an American forum...went to the Pontiac website, turns out there is a V6 version of the G8.
