This is awesome. I would punch a child for one of these
I admire your dedication - thanks!
very nice mate! thats an awesome power figure!
Thanks boss. It's quite surprising looking at the drivability side of things - it rides like a stocker too, but I do miss the boost factor of the raptor...
So, a lot has happened since I updated on here last. I've went on a buying spree and purchased a few necessary parts:
2x bosch 044 fuel pumps
1x 2L surge tank
4,224 x speedflow fittings (roughly)
10m x teflon hose
ASE billet fuel rails
1x Magnafuel fuel regulator
1x Tial 44mm wastegate
Genracing Intercooler kit
Genracing turbo manifolds
1x Turbonetics Y2k T88 turbocharger
1x Turbosmart Race Port BOV
8x Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
1x turbo beanie
1x turbosmart Eboost 2
Bayside Performance Services in Cleveland, Brisbane are going to do the tuning (continuing on from last time) and supplying/installing a NPC copper mix clutch.
Nice job mate, looking forward to seeing the results from the turbo.
I've always liked the Thunders.
Thanks boss. Provided the fuel system bits all arrive this week I'll start fitting it up - should have it finished by sunday if all goes well, then It'll be 2 weeks or so and I'll install the turbo, get RCVX to make up the exhaust and have it tuned.
I'm all ready to go
Jesus, that thing is gonna be a monster...
Not sure about the choice of beer though :rofl2:
Yeah not too keen on it myself, it's a >5 year old can that's been sitting outside my new work shed, I'd only use that crap as a size reference that's for sure!
Yea I didn't even pay attention to that lol that's a pretty decent size turbo!
How come you only went for single turbo?
It's much easier to buy single turbo manifolds off the shelf, and it would have cost me twice as much for the turbos, oil drains, and made intercooling a bitch.
CAN do speedflow fittings
Turbosmart race port bov
Injector Dynamics 1000cc injectors
That is going to be hectic!
Hopefully. I'm planning on starting the install next week
I have a question, I'm a bit confused about the fuel setup you have going on. Theres 2 Bosch 044s correct? On a y piece going into 1 hose...shoudnt that hose after the y piece be bigger? The pumps would not be flowing at their maximum capacity? Almost fighting each other? Makes sense to have a bigger line so that it flows heaps better?
I'm running the exact same set up and I don't have any issues
yeah but do you see where im coming from? in theory it makes no sense because they would be fighting each other to get in that little pipe??
To put it simply the second pump is only there to keep the pressure of the fuel up - admittedly if I was going for 1500hp I would have used an AN-8 hose after the Y-piece but there's no point in my installation.
Ill be keeping my eye on this.
T88's are a big turbo.
When are you expecting too see full boost?
