I guess that means that the statements made at the time of the VE's release, that Holden was reducing the body life cycle from nine years to six, has gone out the window. .

The body life may still be just 6 years - 3 years for the VE and VF.

I guess the chances of them actually releasing a two door such as the Coupe 60 / Monaro are slim?

If they do, I'm buying one! :driving:

The term none springs to mind.

Shall be interesting to see what the next evolution of the Commodore will be.
The VE overall shape and lines still look fairly good against the competition, just a freshen of things like lights, small panel changes similar to the VY to VZ change I think will be what we see over the next 6-12 months. At least until the next major model upgrade.
Like the carsguide article suggests DI will be the major point for the updated model when it is released.

An engine upgrade is normally what happens at this point in a commodores life. Think back to new body in VY and same engine as VX to VZ same body minor updates and new engines. Same with the VE introduction, same engines as VZ but new body. So if history serves us well we should see minor body improvements and some new engines.

Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't the engine plant that makes the Holden 6.0L been closed by GM USA or is that the LS3 plant?

Keep in mind that the major difference will be upside potential. Getting another 100 or so neddies out of the GenIII is very easy. The 6 will not have quite the same potential.

Not to mention the torque, or the drivability, or the fact you don't have to rev all the way to or past redline to get the power out of a gen 3.

Same max power as the earlier Gen III's, still doesn't mean you should compare the two.
