Well we did have to get up at 4am, 2hrs before we went to bed, lick off the bag, work 20 hours down mill, then when we got home our Da’ would beat us to sleep with sticks ...

We lived in an upended Vinnies bin for 11 years with a family of derelict bin chooks. Until they evicted us. Vinnies always sided with the ibis. Bastards.

pretty funny because when ever I mention social issues here it just a "lefty talking point".

We got the **** we asked for but the present beats the past by every metric.

A former VW bigwig sprouting big ideas? Yeah, sure, he'll make things work. What was he doing during Dieselgate? And what is he saying now they've been slapped a whacking $125m penalty for telling porkies? He's not the guy to lead Holden to Nirvana.
As Kevin Bloody Wilson says, "Don't listen to him, boys and girls, 'cause he tells f*kin lies!"

I needed a fuel pressure regulator for a VS V6 - that's a critical part. Unfortunately, it was different to older and newer Commodores. I called lots of places, who said it no longer available. Even the Fuelmiser copy part was out of stock. Luckily somebody called back 2 months later to say they found one on wrong shelf during stocktake. So I wonder how long old Commodores can be kept rolling.....

Yeah the old VS FPR, indeed very hard to find, you were lucky. They can pretty much not be found anywhere. VR and VT can be bought without too much trouble at all.

And Kia Stingers in NT. That story is worth a read, to see what Fujitsu has done to them.

Ah. That has jogged my memory. I was passed by what I now believe to be a NT Police Kia Stinger near Barrow Creek in May. My speed was 129km/h (130km/h posted limit but people go up to 240km/h), but that little kitty flew past literally in a split second. Supposedly the Stinger is more powerful than any V8 Commodore (?)

I learned to drive in a Commodore L (in puffin blue...) dodging kangaroos and falling koalas around my home in Muckleford, central Victoria at the time (1982?). Son has missed out on snaring my well-kept and very, very well-travelled VZ Commodore, sold by the dealer on 22nd November to a first-car driver (19) so he can attend studies at Melbourne University (from Geelong, same as what I did with the car, although the uni gave me a Tourareg V8 to shuttle about). His dad bought it for him! Like I was when I first bought it in 2010, he is thrilled with it. I've had communication from him, and also from the previous owners of my VF-SII wagon.
