Went to work on the bonnet, what was a crack turned out to be an inspection hole someone made about 100mm square. Bit more work but on and upward...

I used fiberglass with a cloth material for superior strength rather than the chop strands
Sanded that back, covered it with a skim of bog and another sand and a bit of putty primer.
It's not 100% perfect yet but looks heaps better
Now i got to do the front edge and fix the corner that is chipped.

I made a template out of balsa wood as it would be easy to sand off when finished glassing
The wood glue will take hours to go off so i will finish it in the morning. Plus im not happy with the front bit, it needs more work before glassing

As i said in previous post i wanted the Monaro style side skirts which i can't get anymore.
I did find i can get an infill panel to graft into some side skirts.
So i would need to buy some VY Style skirts to suit and cut in the flutes....

I will order a set this week just in case they sell out again lol.

Glassed the corner which came up great and the front where it curves, needs a bit more work but taking shape nicely
That's all the glassing done just need to bog a few spots and rub it back now...

Got the top side of the bonnet done lol.
If something can go wrong today was the day for it, nice calm sunny day ready to paint but someone wanted to fix a bit at the last second, time that was done the wind had picked up, start spraying and the spray gun decided to blow the seal for the pot and paint was leaking everywhere. Oh well we got it done in the end. Will have to buy a new pot for the gun and finish to bottom tomorrow or the next day....
