Haven't seen these pipes before. How do they sound. What does the J do

They sound awesome.

The J-pipe is a Helmholtz Chamber, it works a bit like an echo chamber that is tuned to the right length to send the sound wave back on itself and eliminate exhaust drone without affecting the tone.

Not sure of all the science but it works, my has almost no drone (except a little towing heavy at low revs and accelerating or going up hill).

Some info here: J-Pipes and Helmholtz Chambers - PCW - Performance Car Web

They are big in the US where they put them on the G8's

18% tint and J pipes? Would that void warranty and insurance? Illegal mods too?

I will bet you end up with an ulcer one day, you seem to worry too much.

The VF's will be a better cars and be less expensive to buy than the current model.

I've got a brand new SSZ as a loan car, in manual. Red. Just like my current VE lol (except 6 years of age..)

They are a good thing. The brakes feel much better, the clutch is different. Its pick up/engagement point is immediate. The handling is slighty different too - seems to be more direct/immediate when steering off centre.

They are a nice thing and you could do a lot worse for the money!

well basically no way in hell i would just buy a stock SS now, i'd consider going the SSV-Z if you can afford it (which you can you can afford what they are asking for the SS-Z, just ask for the SSV-Z for the same price and theyll do it after some arm twisting).

he Brembo's alone make the package worthwhile and add the Fe3 suspension to that and you're laughing

as for leather i thought the leather upgrade was only for the SSVZ not the SSZ, although when i ordered my car they still had some stock from the old badge ing (SSV redline is what the SSVZ used to be called) and they used to split it into SS,SSV,SSVZ. now they just do SS,SSZ,SSVZ so im not 100% on all the differences.

What price are they asking for the SSZ? i got my SSV-Z for under $48,000 and i upgraded to 20" HSV Flexus rims too and got a slimline hard top put on it (included in the under $48,000). Also this was brand new not ex demo or anything.
