Could ask the place who gassed it. I know Malcolm at Perkins gave me some.

been a long time since I dealt with Perkins. Had no idea he changed the name. Is Malcolm the old owner still there?

Have you taped all the pipes and inlets up?

I am starting to panic after reading more and more "expert advice" on the internet.
Maybe I am supposed to drain all oil from compressor and then refill with oil to desired qty
If oil moves around the system with refrigerant, then that means that twice I will have lost a percentage of oil from the compressor, once from removal from old car, once when I lost this gas from leak.
Because I don't know anything about how compressors use oil , I am now scared I will be wasting money on more gas and having a compressor that has half the oil it should ending up in failure of the compressor?
I don't know, maybe I should not have started this.
Bad advice coming my way too on seal lubrication. The mechanic telling me to use WD40, Holden telling me to use a thin layer of engine oil if you have to,. all of which are taboo in some peoples opinion

They normally add some oil when they top the gas up.

I might be overthinking it. Just feel helpless not knowing much about it and I'm at the mercy of an unknown mechanic whos been told it's fixed and his only responsibility is to put gas in it.

Does he give a warranty? Last time I had an air con system regassed, he checked the whole system....
