Problem with auto glass is lack of certification or requirements for one. The amount of uncaring, useless, untalented arsemonkeys I had to fix work for was astounding back in the day. Fitting glass is an artform, if you're not an artist (bullshit artists excluded), get the fluff away from cars.
ive been in this trade since 96'... you kinda build up relationships with good suppliers/clients. purely pluetonic, that is i mean: im not gonna go pick curtains with him
got racv to do mine when i cracked it. left old glue all inside my car, all over the dash, console and floor. Seal was fitted properly and scratched my roof/doors
I must admit Ari, a good windscreen guy is a handy thing to have, i've had so many mates who have windscreens replaced for RWC's and it the seals aren't done properly among other issues!..
Been in the game awhile as well so I"m in the same boat as Ari, you've have a list of contacts who you just never let go of. You may not speak to them for months or even years but when you call them, they know who you are they give you a fair/good price but better yet, they are dependable and you know what to expect from their work.
hadnt spoken to andy since maybe march but he answered the phone "g'day ari, hows the yankie stuff going?" if anyone is in the market, ill happily pass on his number via PM.
well as far as i was aware it was ONLY the rules i posted first (see post on page 64) but stumbled on that when looking for clarification to this whole "efi setup on a holden red" thing
It's going to be annoying at work though. Cant simply check to see if the car is registered and now will have to go hunting for build year.
Dunno bout Vic, I assume it'll be the same. I have a mobile app, website (both only require rego plate), 2 x reminder letters and calender appointment on the G cloud, but either way I know I'm due on the 29th without said tools. Not sure I've ever looked at a rego sticker, personal or work based vehicle aside sticking it on or pulling it off. That's just me though.
I just realized no rego stickers will make it a little harder to look up peoples cars for work. Ah well most of the people who need me to do this won't even know to take it off anyway. Dropped my new phone on the road whist taking photos of my car tonight, resulting in many cracks on the screen For the melbourne people does anyone know if the asian fellows at Carribean Market are actually any good?
Was more talking about customer vehicles for the purposes of seeing if the car is registered/not for road testing (the amount of cars we get with lapsed rego is incredible) and also for setting up the wheel alignment machine, it needs a year of manufacture and the R.O doesnt always have it on there.
that reminds me i was going to clean my windscreen of the residue before i put my new one on.... at the start of december, whoops.
