No one else will care but me and my staff and probably the wife, but for the first time in over a year I don't have to troll through spreadsheets fixing errors, so that what we have given out in vouchers matches what we have on the spreadsheet.
This job normally takes me hours to go through over 260 entries of support tracking and correcting errors.
I can now catch the bus home and know I can jump straight into my report on Monday and hopefully knock it off by the time I leave that day. I'm a happy man.

We got our electricity bill today for the last 3 months. After the QLD rebate of $89 + the pay on time rebate of about the same plus $7 for our solar power we wind up paying $220. Love it.

That's Not bad.

I'm Exploring new hot water options seeing as its probably The biggest single part of the power bill.

My 20 yr old gas storage cacked itself last year.

Replaced it with an instantaneous gas unit.

If we had plumbed gas at the house I would consider that option but we don't and I don't want big bottles either so unfortunately it's not really an option.

Bugger.

The other option is solar with electric booster.

I installed an Apricus. It was the most expensive and best tube solar hot water system available at the time. Summer it is absolutely brilliant. Power bills of like $140 per quarter and most of that is fees, not usage.
I do have a very energy efficient house though.

Your post reminded me of an old Aussie TV sitcom from the early 80's called Kingswood Country
The head of the household was Ted Bullpitt, who owned a Holden Kingswood.
He wouldn't let anyone drive his Kingswood and would come up with these kooky excuses like....
'You're not taking the Kingswood, I just shampooed the mudflaps!'
