    hi

which is best out of a single 16 inch thermo fan or 2 smaller ones to cover the vn-vs radiator

and in a vs how do you wire them to come on at low and high speeds using the factory relays and wiring if that model has 2 speeds

I put AU thermos on my VR. They cool fine even in hot weather. I read on hear that the single 16" wont cool the 304 enough in summer or warm climates. I didnt worry about 2 speeds. I just had the ecu memcal re-programmed to turn on the elec fan output and ran the thermo's off of that. I didnt bother with 2speed fans.
Definatly a worthwhile little upgrade. Takes away that horrible roar of the clutch fan at idle-2krpm. recomend it.

which is better out of a single 16 inch fan and 2 12 inch ones.

what other thermo fans fit besides au ones and the au onesvare wider than the core and cover the core and tanks, does it matter

Yeah they are big. I head a thread on them about their fit some time ago. I think they are a terrible fit, there way over size. However, after much cutting and fitting and adding a relay and a sizable circuit breaker, it works well.

As for other types that fit. I dont know. Never really looked into it, I did read that some particular model of mondeo fans fit the witdh but not the hight. Which is not ideal. I would be interested to know what fans would fit. Theres gotta be someone on here that works at a radiator shop, that has access to dimesions of cores and could recomend a few types that would fit.

As per the second post a single 16" thermo wont cool the car, so a 16" thermo is a total no go. I truly have no idea how 2 smaller universal fans will go. I assume no good cause they wont cover the core properly unless your gonna make some sort of custom shroud for them. But if you think it will work give it a go, if not, like me and others before stick to what we know and thats the AU thermo's. They are too big and a bit fiddly to install, but they work even in the hottest of weather.
