Well, all I can say is that if I installed a security system I sure as hell wouldn't be telling everyone in the country what I've used.
That's like those idiots with car audio stickers on their rear windows. It's like a shopping list for thieves: "Ahhh, just that car I was looking to steal. It has Pioneer, JL Audio, JBL and even Momo Racing. Just the sort of stuff I can sell for a quick buck!!"

I somehow doubt everyone in the country is a member of this site. Nor do i like their odds of singling out my white vp executive amongst the other 7 billion in perth. and knowing what i've got doesnt mean they can get past it. not like i'm telling you all my pin code to disable the staller.
either way, just putting ideas out there for other commodore users of this site to have a think about. but i agree with you, i dont get those guys with huge kenwood stickers on their car that rock up to shopping centres with their stereos blasting. its like an advertisement for thieves

I am surprised you got that far with no fuel pressure in the rail. mine wont even start if the fuel pump is disabled

No, more like a big duffle bag and a shovel. I reckon no-one would notice if any low life scum went missing.

man my bros car was nearly jacked today, they smashed a quarter panel but the alarm went off.. they pissed off after the alarm went off... he had rims and a stereo, in my opinion if your gonna put a stereo in you NEED a alarm.. and not a stocky one... especially with VN's.... if i ever catch someone tryin to jack a commo or any car ill be sure to break their legs for you ;)

sorry bout ya car mate... probbly some 17 year old juvy thats lookin for some quick cash/joy ride

those crooks need to be taught a lesson, if i caught someone breaking into my car they would need an ambulance too, someone took my stereo and speakers and if i caught em doing it i would have took the speaker off them and smacked them in the head with the back of it several times!!!!!!!!!!! its in a garage now but it got stolen while sitting out the back of a Nissan dealership!! im gonna invest in a top of the line security system when i get the money and until then ill stick with my old cassette radio and 2 speakers just sitting in the doors, nothing worth stealing at the moment

Had my VP broken into for the 3rd time about 6 weeks ago - this time parked at the railway station. One of 18 cars broken in the same car park over 3 days.
Apparently they were after the pocket change people leave in their ashtrays.

All they got from mine was the face off the radio. = nuthin.
What they left me with was a broken window, bent stereo brackets, no tunes, screwdriver marks, and a real bad attitude.

I only hope that one day these ' intelectuals ' (sp?) actually honestly earn the cash to purchase something of their own - and have it taken from them. Thats if the drugs dont get em first.

I had a couple of pricks try and take my calais a few weeks ago at three in the morning. It was reversed up my driveway 3 metres from my bedroom window, the drivers door was 2 metres from my front door, the sensor lights were on them and my dog was growling at the front door. One prick was standing at the front of the house looking at my front door and the other was trying to get in with a screwdriver. When my missus heard something she looked out the door and they ran off (i'd sleep through an earthquake) The day before someone messed around with the lock so everytime i turned the alarm on, it would lock then unlock. stupid me didn't bother using the alarm the night they tried to get it but they couldn't get passed the deadlocks anyway (dumb pricks!) I have thought about parking it on the road with a knife under the drivers seat so when they get in ( and i'll let them) they would get something sharp right up their arse :) Then when they try to run off me and my mates in surrounding houses will come out and finish them off.

Yeah man, my reaction when my VN claias got nicked was disbelief and denial! :p Nah there are some great car alarm systems out there, however they still aint 100 per cent steal proof. Kill switch is a great idea, and a switch for the fuel pump too. Some top line alarm systems cater for this. Also a high dB piezo for the interior, works wonders. It's amazing how many people think a siren going off outside the car deters thieves. Lets face it, the average person passing by who hears an alarm isn't going to do much!

Also you can buy a pager kit from Jaycar. You hook it up to a pre-paid phone and it sends a text to your mobile telling you what has been breached. Of course it will work anywhere there is mobile reception so when you get the text, off you go! Run to the car! It'd be great if you could dial that number, have the sound running through the speakers and talk to the pricks. That'd be a pissa! Tinted windows are good because they can't see in too well. I guess that's it from me! Merry Christmas!
