Hey all, especially to any Thiele-Small afficionados out there.....
I have a small conundrum, in that I'm wanting to use a particular driver in a ported sub box design - it's a DVC driver, twin 2 ohm coils - the Thiele-Small parameters listed for the driver relate to single voice coil usage, but I'd like to use the two coils in a series hookup for a 4 ohm load impedance. (there's no parameters listed for dual coil mode in any configuration, series or parallel)
My question is this - is there a fairly standard conversion/calculation to derive the dual coil parameters from the single coil figures? I know that BassBox Pro can do this for you on the fly, but I'm not using that modelling program and don't really want to spend 150 bucks to be able to!!
(although I do have a brand new VY/VZ short-shifter stick for the V8 six slotter which I'd swap for it!!)
Anyhow, any help would be appreciated. If you read this and go "Huh??" thanks for looking at the thread anyways.
Cheerz!
