i agree with you but in the case i said to him on the phone i have someone look at it and they may make a higher offer (the first time we talked on the phone last night) in which case i would take it but check with him first in case he wanted to offer more.

If you were talking to him on the phone last night, why does the link you posted say the ad was first posted today? This is clearly not the ad he was replying to. If you advertised it for $900, and he offered $900, you should have accepted. Now you are saying you have been offered $1200, but you have a brand new ad looking for more than that.

If you want to auction it, put it on fleabay. Otherwise, set a price and honour the deal.
