hi guys I know its a commodores forum but im hoping someone can help me out.
I'm looking at buying a old kingswood 1 tonne ute for work ( work in construction)
now I found one that looks alright and planning on going down tomorrow to have a look at it.
it has been restored and the engine has been changed.
what I would like to know is where can I pull up the engine details to make sure it is clean and clear?
also is this gonna be a problem when it comes to getting rego as its is not registration atm
thanks you
tom

check this page out:
Check vehicle details before purchase : VicRoads

pretty much the top one (payment required) you can see if money is owed, and so forth.
see if the seller would be willing to get one done. if not you can do it yourself.

the second part is more a basic free check.
says the engine details etc like you are wanting to know.

just a side thing.
if the engine originally came in the vehicle then you should be fine in reregistering it, but with the new engine numbers etc.
otherwise if its a newer model engine (ie a 5l from a vt) then you should still be able to get it registered as long as it meets some requirements.

goodluck and happy buying.
