hey guys just wanting to check some stuff... my vx manual commodore died the other day, at first i thought it was a dodgy battery so i got a new one brought down...but nothing, didn't even turn over, just a click near the abs module. so we ruled out starter motor and alternator...its wierd. head lights turn on, dash lights come on, stereo works... but interior lights dont work, power windows are dead and so are the lights in the glove box and boot. mate of mine that works at holden got me to unhook the bcm completely and connect different plugs looking for a reaction, but nothing... were fairly sure its bcm, as it seems like it's immobilising itself or something. anyone had this?? oh and btw it died in motion, the car was on and rolling when it died...
which do u mean by main fuse...cos we left the battery off for a few hours and have removed the bcm for a short amount of time. all fuses were checked but we didnt take any out for an extended period of time. i did try the error codes check with the piece of solder but i couldnt get it, my mate reckons he got it in properly but the beeps didnt match anything, i think it just beeped 4 times, signalling a 40 code, which wasnt on the sheet...its wierd...
Fault codes are displayed by a series of flashes by the engine warning light not beeps (unless the VX is different to the VT, but I doubt it) Couldn't hurt to check your relays and fusible links in the engine bay ( engine cont. relay and start relay)
sounds like your body control module has **** itself, the same thing happend to me. get a new one installed
Give this a go i had somthing similar cept i dont have power windows so i dunno if those symtoms would b the same but the others sound the same thats if ur BCM isnt stuffed http://forums.justcommodores.com.au...7-2002/54523-vt-strange-starting-problem.html
