Ignition should work regardless of the PCM, it only takes over once the engine reaches a set rpm.

There are aftermarket dizzy's with questionable quality or it could be the module itself. Do you know anyone with a running 304 you could borrow a known working module from?

Test for spark directly from the coil (to rule out a rotor/cap issue).

Also, what replacement coil did you use?
No I don't have another I can borrow to test.
How would one test for a spark from the coil?
I replaced the coil from Bosch to Bosch.

When you turn it over does the tacho needle on the dash move at all ?
If not that may indicate that there is no signal from ignition module
to coil secondary terminal.
Faulty wire ( open circuit ) or dud ignition module.

If your getting spark at the coil then that rules out your module, if no spark at coil then check your fuses including big ones with the window, if they are all good and you then should test that power is present at the module.

If you have spark at the coil then maybe its the hall effect sensor not connected inside due to dodgy workmen ship, When you say put it back in at the same spot how do u know its not 180 out without doing it TDC on number 1 cylinder. You still get spark but not when its on the compression stroke. Also does it have a condenser on the coil maybe its the issue, not sure on that though. Also test your connections to the module maybe a loose fit.

Thanks Trevor, I'll check over these tonight and let you know how I go.
