Thermo fans didnt kick on either

Put your coke bottle back in, fill it about half way and just let it run and bubble for a bit, there might just be more air trapped in it. Sometimes it takes a few good revs to get the coolant flowing properly and force the air out to the radiator.

If you take a look at the coolant cross-over passage in the intake manifold you'll note that it's not at the end of the head but between 2 intake ports, that means that air trapped further forward in the head can get trapped.

The coke bottle is not sealing i have to keep topping it up as the coolant flows over the cap opening

I have video of the bubbles but no where to upload it on here

Got her up to just under half temp gave her 3 revs to around 3500rpm and she boiled over

Water is black too, the coke bottle blew out, fans only work if i start the car from a cold engine, if the engine is already warm and i start it the fans wont turn on at all

Wrap electrical tape round the top of the coke bottle. That will give it a better seal when screwing it into the radiator.

When was the last time new coolant was put in? That looked crap.

When putting in the new thermostat, did you test it first? New parts these days can be sh#t.

Turn on the a/c the thermo fans should kick in?
There could be trouble with the thermo fan relays? Maybe the temp sensor is cactus too?

Make sure you get the correct relays. Test the parts before replacing?

Has the waterpump ever been replaced? If its original, maybe impellors have corroded away?

The joys of motoring eh? ;) :)

Went to get a radiator test kit and the bloke just said i dont need a test kit i have a blown head gasket

So now im going to replace the head gaskets my car is a 99 Calais which is a LN3/L36

The head gaskets on ebay only go to 1998

Is the LN3/L36 the same gasket kit as a regular VT commodore?
