It's worth paying more to get quality hardware when you are depending on its strength to keep you alive.
All the stuff I’ve seen is made in China so SSDD

And price isn’t a great indicator of quality, more an indicator of margin :(

Any stands, jacks and such made in Australia?

Maybe it's easier to judge quality based on weight?
Take some fishing scales along with you to the tool shop and weigh all the jacks and stands. And buy the heaviest;)

Hell, it looks like I threw out the wrong pair of stands.
I'm going to be really wary getting under the car now!

Bar the first one, any of the others will hold up your Commodore without fail.

If you could balance your Commodore on 1 jack stand you still only have 2 ton on it, look at the failure weight on any of the last 3, you simply aren't going to achieve that with a regular cars weight.

and still have a good safety margin for many (unloaded) semi’s, trucks and busses…

I made a set of axle stands years ago from an old hayman reece towbar....

Solid as all get go.....Don't know what ever happened to them but the chance of them failing was next to zero....Only the welds could fail
