You need to find out how FBW throttle bodies work.
I know how they work. The only interference in the oily film could have is on the bearings which don't really get affected by that.

At work we service 8 to 10 cars a day and we never see TB issues other than old IAC TB cars like old magnas it's a non issue. Yea some can fail but it's rare.

Maybe you should try it sometime !
its like Magic
There a ways of checking if it needs to be cleaned with the naked eye,
But I wont pass that on, because you say it wont work and a gimik !
However, you answered your own stupid gimik statement with -
"It's like trying to clean your sink tap for better flow"
Hey, That's 100% correct, clean tap and pipes = better flow of water,
just like flushing the radiator and cooling system = better flow of water = system keeps cooler !
Clean TB, better flow of Air with no restriction around the throttle/butterfly,
Better flow of Air = better air and fuel mixture !
That will work, that means less fuel used = better fuel economy.
Better Fuel ecomommy = less fuel to buy = less money spent = saving money,
I think I am on to something here, a more efficient Car.
Look up fullboost about the LS V12 it makes 700hp off the standard TB flow is not an issue. All the top performance specialists that are worth a grain of salt will tell you intake mods make 1 to 2% improvement and exhaust can make 10%.
K&N filters bigger TB's and upgraded MAF's is all BS. The OTR is a good upgrade as it rams cold air into the TB but is only usefull at WOT so it's a moot upgrade and only the VCM one works.

Another gimik is those manifold spacers for eco moos.

Flame suit on.

I guess there's no point servicing the car at all hey? Why wouldn't you keep your engine as clean as possible. No-one is expecting 20 horsepower gain from cleaning the throttle body but lol why wouldn't you keep it clean for the sake of 5 minutes every 2 years?

That's just stupid. Of course you service your car but you don't over service it, no point changing the oil after every drive to "keep the engine clean".
Holidays must've started.

thats the whole point that the electronic throttle vehicles have idle trims (same as fuel trims) as its to slowly correct for the buildup of gunk on the throttle body over time, so if it wasnt an issue then there would be no need for idle trims within the tune

OMG. Yes the ECU will change it's tune to account for this which means it's ACCOUNTED FOR! making it a non issue because your car keeps on working FFS.

so when ur injectors start failing and the fuel trims max out to correct for it its still fine as its corrected for, just because it still works dosnt make it optimal and for maby 10 min simple clean couple times a year keeps it good

Injectors maxing out is going to happen because a film a few microns thick is on the TB? Now I've heard it all.

I don't get how a little bit say 0.1 of a millimetre of build up is going to stop air flow and have a effect on IAC valve as the IAC valve is behind the butterfly to allow air in to adjust idle, only issue will be the IAC being either carboned up or a failure, what I see if your going to replace your IAC valve then clean the body throttle as well so you get a longer service life.
This thread is about a electric throttle body so if it feels sluggish what's 5min of your time removing it and give it a clean for peace of mind!!
