VE SERIES 2 MY11 SSV A6 in IVY GREEN
Ok i basically just bought my 05 sv6 and got it VCM tuned before i really drove the car as i didn't have a license at the time. Now that i am driving everyday i have noticed quite a serious issue with the throttle/ or gearbox at about 3/8 throttle. The revs don't stay constant when accelerating and fluctuate like the throttle is "pulsing". I can only put it down to the Drive by Wire system??

Anyone else had this problem or have any ideas?. The car is fine under harder acceleration, it only happen at this certain throttle point.

Sounds like a gearbox on the way out to me. Seems to becoming more and more common on the VZ's, because of the "sealed for life" BS.

This is the fluid that came out of my "sealed for life" gearbox - no prizes for guessing which one is the old fluid. Guy across the road from me just spent $4,500 getting his 5spd auto rebuild because 5th gear just stopped working at 100,000kms, thanks to trans fluid way past it's due-by date.

With Holden servicing, is there ever a scheduled Transmission fluid change for the 5sp?

My car is approaching 100,000k's and I service it regularly but I'd like the fluid to be checked/replaced by Holden. I'm no mechanic and I don't even want to attempt to do it myself.

Holden specify the 5 speed to be serviced at 150K.
I had my 4 speed done at 100K.
Had a talk to the specialist that serviced my tranny
about extended service intervals.
He claims they should be serviced every 12 months
or 20K. Along with some stories about failures.
But he would say that wouldn't he?
Cheap insurance though for overservicing.
