'thudding' noise

i hav an mtx 15" thunder 4500 sub and recently changed from a larger box to slighty smaller due to the other one bein stuffed after an acco and now at lower volume the sub makes a kind of thuddin sound is this because the box is smaller. would porting it do nefing or would that juz be pointless. i dont know how many litres the box is

Yes, it is because the box is smaller. Perhaps it is the wrong size box? Porting wont do a thing as you will need a MUCH larger box if you chose to port it.
