Hi Guys.

My IRS Statesman has started making a slight bang/thud noise as it drops back to 1st when pulling up at the lights.....if I creep down to the lights slowly it doesn't do it but if I brake at a normal speed to come to a stop it makes a thud noise right as it shifts back to first.

I have replaced trans mount (as it was cracked), checked front and rear uni for play and checked all rear end bushes.

Definitely sounds like its coming from the rear of the car/diff area.

Any ideas of where to check next, I am new to IRS

Thanks

Could be a cv joint on one of the axles

Doesn't feel like there is any play when trying to move the CV shafts, doesn't really rule out a joint though...thanks will look into it
