Thumping through subs when it feels like it

my amp did that once when the earth lead wasnt connected properley. tightened it up and it stopped.

Sweet as mate .. I noticed for some stupid reason, My earth is a **** one at that .. I am going to change it all today and see if it reacts different. But i noticed, that when it starts to thump and i turn the volume right down to 0 it thumps worse .. Then i turn it right up and it stops :S .. Bu thanks for the Heads up mate

Is that speaker wire for ground wire???? I'm surprised it hasn't melted yet. Anyway replace that first. General rule is the exact size or bigger than the power cable.

See how it goes after that. Chances are you are experiencing big voltage drops because of that ground cable.

Ok all changed the earth to nice and thick stuff (off cut to the power cable) now i have a mega power drop when the bass hits .. about volt drop (13.8v no bass to 11.1 worse case it hit when bass hit).. Normal ??? I can upload the pics now .. HAHAHAHA ..

I will post the one up off the amp in 5 .. need to go take one
i still ahve the thumping .. But not as bad .. So that earth wire was a problem .. Next i am thinking RCA leads or AMP .. Or tho the amp has been repaired 4 times from melting lol

sorry guys bare with me as i am new with this site, i have a 1800watt mono block kenwood amp and two 400 watt soundstream 15inch subs with a 2000watt capacitor, with my amp as low as it can be it cuts out all bass at high volume turn it down for a second or two it comes back on and also i have dimming lights at half volume. i thought that the capacitor was supposed to help it but it seems to do nothing at all is there any suggestions anyone could give me thanks much appreciated

Has this happend all of a sudden or has it been like this from the start ??
