ticking noise after cam package installation

was wondering if anyone has any info for me i had a bad "lifter tick" on my vf ss, l77 motor so took it in to get it sorted ended up doing a cam package they told me one of the dod lifters was all messed up internally and that was the cause , i got new ls7 lifters installed along with cam an supporting mods, car has a small lifter tick like noise still its very minimal but i am worried so i spoke to the mechanic who said dont worry nothing to stress about these motors are noisy its completely normal .. what do you think of this?

Had bad lifter noise from motor...
Wanted noise fixed so decided to spend a little more $$ to get some extra herbs...
Now have slight lifter tick....

Guess the mechanic didn’t tell you these motors are noisy prior to you spending g $$ with him.

If he didn’t, I’d be a somewhat peeved as it seems the mechanic failed to fully repair the underlying problem you wanted fixed while he did up sell you a cam job...
