We changed the timing chain on a 2007 ve alloytec

All guides and markers were in great. Car runs fine however now the old 0017 error shows up on check engine light

I swapped cam sensors from right to left and hoping when customer comes back tomorrow 0016 error shows up instead on scanner which means it was just the sensor

THE QUESTION: after putting the first timing chain into place, the book states that u must crank turn the engine 1 third a rotation before putting the next chain on, is this true?

Some write ups on here dont mention this and we didnt do it which is why we believe the 0017 error has shown up....

After putting the left chain in position and then the lower chain in position u MUST turn the engine clockwise from 4 oclock to 8 oclock where the left chain bottom marker lines up with the pointer on the oil pump (at 8 oclock) the pointer is just behind the tensioner.

U must do this before putting the drivers side timing belt on otherwise u will get a timing chain sym error after youve put it all back together.
