VR statesman
New member so first off g'day all..
I have just got my hands on a VR statesman the weekend just gone.
It's popping and carrying on and feels a tad off until around 3,000 and seems to clear up with a good foot into it..initial thought was filthy plugs or ignition module..not the case. I did find tonight that the dizzy is loose .
Here is where it may get tricky.it is:
355 stroker.
No idea what Cam is in it (not stock)
Any ideas on where roughly my timing should be as a starting point or should this be trial and error until it comes good?

what type of ecu are you running,
if its stock ecu use paperclip to get ecu in diag mode
start the engine and use timing light and adjust to 10 btdc
once set tighten dizzy (cut a 9/16 spanner in half it fits alot easier)
after tightening recheck with timing light i n diag mode
then start in normal mode, the ecu will adjust whatever it wants, justs needs the base to be correct
