[QLD] Timing vp 304

Hi not sure how this all works,here goes, ht ute all vp 5ltr eng trans,ran fine befor, fitted extracters and O2 senser,now pinging 6 deg timing only setting that seems to work, but still pings

How are you checking the timing? Have you bridged out the plug under the glove box to put the ecu into diagnostic mode?

Yeah did all that, also did reset on ecu,forgot to say was single exhaust, now twin with no crossover

You DID fit 2 of them???

Or........Maybe the knock sensor???

Not using E10 fuel are you???

I'm lost, yeah 2 exhaust,mufflers,cats, 1 O2 senser,vp didn't have knock senser did they? If they did wouldn't it back off timming to stop pinging cheers

Running regular unleaded, same as befor extracters fitted

VN-P 5 litre only has 1 O2 sensor. Also, it won't have a knock sensor.

Is it actually pinging or is it just making more noise through the extractors? Or an exhaust leak? Sometimes that can sound like pinging.

Yeah defiantly pinging, no power as well when on 10deg and pings bad,

Try running 98 and see if it pings.

Nothing else changed at all, just extractors and exhaust? Shouldn't make it ping unless as 383 hatch has said, it's got an extractor leak.

Delco had found that on a 304 he tuned one side ran leaner than the other without a balance pipe in the twin exhaust system.

Where is the O2 sensor located?

What sort of tune does it have?
