This isn’t a question just a warning. The air con died during winter, I noticed because I used it to defrost the windscreen. When I got home I checked under the bonnet and found clear sticky oil, this came from the compressor seals letting go. It looked harmless enough and I decided to clean it next time I did under the bonnet. So of course I forgot it until I had the air con fixed recently. The compressor oil turned black from road grime then turned hard from the heat. I tried some standard degreaser but it did nothing. The final fix was to use a hard tooth brush with kero, and even then I had to turn the brush over to give it a gentle scrap. Then I used the normal degreaser to get rid of the kero remnants. It was a long painful process . . . . So if your compressor seal lets go - remove the belt so it doesn’t keep throwing the oil around - degrease immediately
A few things that can work well for removing baked on oil like that Carbie cleaner works well that wash it off real quick incase it damages your paint. Second thing is Inox not only is it a great lubricant it also works well as a degreaser except its damn expensive. Last of all is hot water with a caustic based detergent like Drive (named for cars ) or Cold power etc.
Yeh ive heard great stuff about that inox! my dad brought home a can from work one time, cleans everything.
