i bought a spare injector set off ebay, i keep the spare set cleaned and ready to go in a sealed bag, i put oil on the orings to keep them fresh and seal properly when mounted, every 50,000km or so i swap them out for the other set then take the other set back to the injector place to have them cleaned, new orings and filter baskets then flow tested, costs me about $80. When i swap the injectors over i put a new fuel filter on at the same time.

ave you tried efi cleaner from supercheap or autobarn ( only $2) it tends to help alot for the time being. all you ave 2 do is ave 50 litres of fuel in your tank and you put in 50 ml of this stuff and it does the trick for the time being

i used to get around 9L per 100km in my vs manual.
get 11L per 100km in my manual 3L soarer, can go up to 22L per 100km easily by just driving slightly harder....
moral of the story - drive it like a grandma and your car and hip pocket will thank you :)

if u can smell petrol alot from the exhaust when just idleing then o2 sensors would be your best bet,
