    hey guys,
went to look at a vu ss 2002 for sale yesterday. had 180 000 on the clock (which is a bit more than you want working off 15k a year rule) but guy said $10k for it....
there were a few problems with it tho
    biggest
abs light was on... he said it was the rear drivers side sensor what stuffed... my question is does that sound right?
    how much to replace?
and if its not that i would say it was the whole module (seeing as people have had problems with them)

and there were some cosmetic damage to interior.. gear knob spun freely, steering wheel worn, speaker mesh broken.

and ute didn't have much rear tread left..

good buy and fix little things or wait and spend money on a 13-14k vu ?? thoughts

    yer,
had a look at my uncles vu and a mates at work... both had the same problem with gear knob spinning. common problem much ?? need a good ute. wanted a vr-vs 5L or a vu 5.7
but for right price. vr-vs 5k-7k or vu for around 9-11k i would of thought
a lot of them are marked up to eye balls because they are utes. they might hold their value well but not 3 times more expensive than sedan models.
just on edge now to get another ute.. the missus' corolla does not suit me.

The issues you described sound minor so If you can get if for a good price and give it some TLC go for it. 180k is still pretty low so if he'll go 8-9k you've got yourself a bargain
