well i just got my stage 2 shift kit in 2day n i must say it is awesome to drive :yeah: but then recieved sum bad news from the guys who did it... they said it was looking very tired n found a few metal shreads n yeh not to good.. they said it will last if you behave with it n not do too many burnouts n so on... like with ne thing else start thrashing it u start braking things..

i asked how much was a full performance rebuild along with a stage 2 shift kit he said $1500 which i thought was a fair price...

my trans now is perfect and i cant notice anything wrong with it no slipping wot so eva, ive neva had a problem with it.

do u guys reckon i shud go along with this.. also note that will likely to b happening early next year... or unless i find $1500 lying on the street sumwere :p

    cheerz guys

Performance rebuild? clarify what exaclty they will be doing. For a normal rebuild. $1500 is still fair imo.

You have a VP, I'd expect the trans to be tired too. I'd wait until it starts to crap itself before a rebuild though. Like vn6pwr said, if it ain't broke. Tired isn't broken, but you have to watch it doesn't run any red lights.

hahaha, aren't shift kits the best ^^ Did you get them to throw in a corvette servo piston aswell?

And yeah, as echoed above, don't get it rebuilt unless you have to. You'll get plenty of warning ;)

haha, at least these things give you warning before they throw in the towel. The trans on my mazda went from hero to zero in just three shifts. 1st, 2nd, 3rd, nuteral... ... nothing. dangit. :p

Why wait? if your planning on getting the rebuild may aswell get it done now... Youll do less damage to the box.... no point dragging it on....

If you planning on having it done, may aswell get it built tough as soon as, could save some money if you dont shagg more parts in the mean time.

$1500 will get you a manual though... just to think about it.

    aZk.

The bits that wear out are going to be replaced anyway, why not get your money's worth out of it until it starts to go.
