To swap or not to swap....

Damn, I have the chance to straight swap my 2009 SS + my Yamaha R1 for a 2008 HSV Clubsport...

I LOVE my bike but am on 11 points so 1 to play with for 6 months is just too risky. Don't get me wrong I can, and do get into all kinds of mayhem in my car, but the bike is just too tempting to be doing silly speeds that I do.

So yeah, my bike is worth $8,000 and the SS I have no idea, but the HSV is surely the better option for the long haul hey...

My goods...

Straight swap for this...

My SS - 2009 235k
HSV - 2008 215K

Any thoughts or views much appreciated...

Up to you ultimately but i would, the hsv is an all around nicer car and being an r8 it’s got the big brakes etc and hsv will always hold its value better than an ss
I have VIN and car has HSV badges here and there, but after a rego check it comes back as just 'Holden Clubsport Sedan'... no mention of HSV which I could be wrong but I would've thought it would...

Don't wanna end up with a different car with badges lol. Untrained eye and all that...

Provided its a legit HSV and in good condition I’d do the swap (also need to make sure it’s not encumbered or stolen). HSV trumps SS for collectibility and potential resale value down the track.

If it's a R8 6.2 clubbie with leather might be worth considering..seems rougher than yours & been messed around with a bit.

Mine is quite deceiving from the pics, the paint ain't too hot close up. His has imperfections.

His is 6.0ltr auto, same as mine. I'm guessing his will be quicker but mine is quick enough...

My R1 is a weapon. 100kph in 1st, 200kph in 2nd. Over 300kph top speed. Equal power to weight ratio at 200hp for 200kg. I LOVE it!!... but have serious lead foot issues and they go off the scale on the bike. 1 point left on my licence so it's overall a good move I *think*...

The HSV 6.0 is an LS2, has different heads and warmer cam than L76/L98.

Mate guessing that the R1 is about 15 years old anyone who has never owned a high performance sports bike can't really appreciate how quick these things are. The first time l wound the s1000rr out, l was in a very, very happy place. You should have got a r/detector, good luck with the demerit points.
