Gas reaserch do some killer gas only carbs, good for reasonable H.P. !

500 th lift could be a problem when it comes to setup with the gas, dont honestly know..........

When are you going to get a chance to put money aside for V8 rego....when your going through tyres and diffs like there's no tomorrow???

Holden used the evr popular Powerglide 2sp auto, with a variety of ratios and clutch sets depending on the engine it was behind...........
They then went for the TH400, 3 spd strong, hard to kill, rebuilt properly these can handle 4 figure H.P..........
Then came the TH350, very similar to the 400, different ratios.........
Last of the TH slushers was the 700, these are the 4spd boxes in VNs.

I'm not a hoon so tyres and diffs aren't an issue. And the guy builing the motor has built heaps of cars and never busted one from having the wrong box or diff combo. I'll make my final decision when i see the car and drive it though.

well i get to see the car in 2 weeks. the guy has seen it himself and says its tidy as. has a scratch on the bonnet but thats getting resprayed anyway. only has 125k on the clock. the car was in a garage for years and only used for holidays. unknown how the original motor blew up but i don't really care as it will have a new one. will let you all know what shes like. will try to get photos to post.

the car is coming a week early so it should be ready for me with the new engine in in 2 weeks max hopefully. he's puting my Grp A scoop and LE wing on too. My camera is stuffed but my brother inlaw is lending me his to take pics for you all.

well we worked out the car should have 340hp or 253kw at the flywheel. not to shabby huh.

well the car is in town now and is about to get the engine built. its not a calais after all but has calais door moulds and possibly skirts, i haven't seen it. the interior is bluey green with the vinyl door trims with carpet along the bottom. calais seats i think. 4 wheel disc with V8 rear end. black tail lights with the black bits in between the lens' and black garnish. pedders suspension all round. it has 112k on the clock. the reason the engine blew up is cos the owner left it in a garage for about 6 years then went and drove it without changing the oil. i'm not sure whether to take the kit off mine or not now. either leave it straight with just the moulds or put LE kit and with Grp A front bar and scoop. what to do?
