Look how brock f***ed over john harvey that time at bathurst.Brocks car broke down,so he stopped john harvey or harveys co driver, they were in the teams second car,and he took over their car, and went on to win the race. That is gotta be the biggest load of crap thats ever happened at bathurst.I didnt mind brock until this happened and he actually claimed the win,I saw an interview with john harvey years after this, and he said he shouldnt have handed the car over, and if he knew then what he knows now,he definitely wouldnt have done it.He went on to say at least the team won the race (with tongue in cheek). In my book, brock has only won 8 bathurst's,not 9.

That reminds me of the Chaser song, everyone a top bloke when they're dead.

"And Brocky was some revhead,
who pumped the air with pure lead,
so anti green he drove into a tree
But all that was forgotten,
once they took their final breath.
Yes even tools turn into top blokes after death"

Ah! classic lyrics. so sweet to the ears

Wait wut?

That car was how many laps down when he got into it and it won by how many?
He didn't just wave them them down and steal the car that was a team decision. Brock was an incredible driver, that's why they put him in that car.

Not really comparable to ripping someone off blind and then driving them out of business in order to further your own.

Im not comparing anything to anything, someone said who did brock f***k over, and I said john harvey. The point is brocks car broke down,so he didnt finish the race in the same car he started in.Not a win at all I reckon.Doesnt matter what place or where the cars were,he broke down, end of his race..And it didnt take long after this for CAMS or whoever to fix this loophole in the rules that they used to get away with it in the first place.

Your opinion is your opinion. But anyone who finds and exploits a loophole is a genius team. End of story!

It was perfectly legal... Wasn't a personal power grab by Brocky. I see your point but its kind of not a point at all.

Not a personal power grab!!Harvey said the decision to take over the second car was made by brock and the team manager.

Find me a legitimate quote where he says that, otherwise its hearsay.

And it was a compition. One which Brock WON. Harvey wasn't going to.
My bet is it went something like this;
Brock: I can get that car (which is something like 2-3 laps down).
Manager: You sure?
Brock: Yup.
Manager: righto
Makes the call

Brock wins by 8(?) laps.

To me, that's a decision made in the best interest of the team.

Harvey himself says it in some interview. And as he even said,he shouldnt have handed the car over.Ive also read that Brocks brother (who was harveys co driver that year) said similar stuff too. That says a lot about what went on,and it wasnt like they found this secret "loophole", everyone knew about it,but no one else was pathetic enough to do it.They even changed the rules so it didnt happen again, that shows what the people at CAMS and the general public felt about it.I remember what most aussies at the time thought about it too.It was very controversial.A few brock fans were the only ones who tried to justify it,but people saw it for what it was,a very sad way to win.

The quote is from the 40 (?) years of HDT DVD which I have at home. Cross entering was available for several years under the rules and many teams took advantage to it. The Moffat mazdas were one such example where they entered 3 cars but only ran the top 2 qualifiers. Brock was the first to win via this cross entering situation and interestingly enough repeated it in '87.

The situation had been discussed in the team strategy meeting days in advance. Harvey knew that Brock would take over the car when 05 blew up. He was only slightly annoyed at Perkins also taking over the car as Harvey says that he was lapping faster than Perkins all weekend.

Bullshit - Harvey knew it was coming and was fine with the situation. Phil Brock (Split Pin) was pretty pissed over not getting a drive however. If that rule was so bad, why was it left in till at least '87???
