Just finished replacing the intake gasket on the 253 in our race car. Before it was leaking coolant through the 2 front intake bolts, and also the thermostat housing.

Now with the leaks fixed, it seems to be forcing open the seal on the radiator cap and pushing air through to the overflow bottle which starts bubbling, like when u blow air through a straw in ur drink.

Any ideas wat would cause this? The thermostat is good, already checked it. It isn't blowing water/steam out the exhaust, so not sure if it's a head gasket...but yeah with the radiator cap off it does bubble/blow water out pretty bad.

Better not be a bloody head gasket anyways lol. Still revs good, not misfiring. It's a lumpy motor but the motor is smooooth as.

Ahh dang it....well as we gotta pull it out anyways (need to change the timing cover and trans) we may as well just chuck all the good gear off the 253 onto the spare 308 we have. See how that goes.
