I wouldn't take it as literally as "a couple" probly more like a limited run of 10-50 or something.

The W427 went on sale in August 2008 and retails for A$155,500 (EUR€90920). Production was originally intended as a limited run of 427 cars. However, only 137 were built (this number does not include HSV's show car i.e. 138 are built), to be sold only in Australia and New Zealand (only 3 exported to NZ).[7]
Reportedly[8], Holden Special Vehicles offered the pre-order of build No 427 to the Cairns Monaro collector Shawn Ryan, who purchased the 2002 HRT 427 for $920,000 in 2008. The last W427 to be built was made to order in July 2009. This very last W427, White Build was No 137 sold in Western Australia Fremantle and personally signed by Tom Walkinshaw.

As a result, only two concept HRT 427's, and four racing car versions, exist, each of which cost about $500,000 to build. One of the concepts is not for sale and is slated to remain with the Holden concept vehicle collection. In April 2008, the other concept HRT 427 was sold to the Cairns car collector Shawn Ryan for the record-breaking price of $920,000, making it the most expensive Australian car ever sold[5]

^^Ever reliable wikipedia lol.

I stand corrected lol, only 2 actual road cars.

^^^^^ I was talking about the 427 2 door Monaro's of a few years back. Probably that model and the GTRX would have to both be the most "limited" editions ever to find it's way to public ownership. The only other Australian cars that come close that were the V8 XU-1's (none of which were sold to the public AFAIK) and the Phase IV GTHO XA's of which there are 2 (?) in public ownership.

Having owned a heavily worked LX SS hatch which i had to sell due to financial issues ive wanted to buy another one ever since. I hope Holden design their own shell and make it resemble the old Toranas, now that would be cool.

Yes! This I want too.

I think realistically even a sub (that's sub ) 1500kg RWD LS* V8 would be pretty good. Maybe 25-50kg less for each of 2.0L '4' and 3.6L V6 also. Make it a 4 door and it's perfect. Something like the Cadillac ATS that the Chevrolet 130R/"Wheels" Torana shares a chassis architecture with but built to a Commodore budget/spec.

They should just re-release the old torana exactly as it was, just with newer running gear.

No, no they shouldn't. That would make the classic Toranas almost worthless and not anywhere near as sort after as they are now when you could just go and buy a new one..Never going to happen.
