Hi guys
I'm new to read dyno figures. I am basically interested in knowing when to shift gear. People all told me for fastest acceleration make sure the next gear starts within its power band. But my question is when we do dyno check, tuner guy may put a ratio into it, then does the torque curve apply to all my gear? My mate says his tuner uses 3rd gear for the test, so you know when start to change from 2 to 3, and 3 to 4, since 2,3,4 are more important for acceleration. Any thoughts?

Power run on the dyno is usually done in what ever gear is the 1:1 ratio to give the most accurate power curve.

When you shift up to the next gear you want it to drop the engine into the middle of the torque/power band. Ideally you don't want it to drop below the peak torque rpm.
