Tow bar wiring - where to drill hole?

I'm in the middle of installing a tow bar on my MY10 SV6 Sportwagon. I have the bar in and the wiring loom connected, but I'm stuck at where to drill the hole to feed through the wiring from the boot area.

Is anyone able to describe where the best place to drill the hole is? A photo from the inside of the boot showing an existing installation would be very helpful.

Also interested in the same thing, i have fitted my tow bar but yet to do the electrics and was wondering where to go with the hole.

Did you get the holden town bar and loom? i did i got the heavy duty bar and loom with the little black box thing, the loom plugs in to the main rear harness on the right hand side but my wiring loom has a long thin wire with a small plug on the end that looks like it should go across the other side somewhere and plug in also has a small earth connector on it, do you know where this goes..? im thinking its something to do with parking sensors??

Dont the original trailer wiring and plug just get passed out the tailgate when needed and then gets put back in the side pocket when not required (being a flat loom )

On the VE, the hole gets drilled on the drivers side of the spare wheel well. As close to the top of the spare tyre as possible and at about a 5pm positioning.

would you happen to have a picture of this? is there some kind of making on the boot floor to show where to drill, like a indentation?

Dont have a photo handy myself, there is no indentation either, so it is fairly freestyle where you drill.

Yeah Bandit I got the genuine wiring kit from Holden for $130. I got instructions with mine - they show that the long thin wire goes across to the earth point just behind the battery. I'll post the instructions up later if you like, but they're a bit vague about where to put the hole.

Thanks Sabbath. The instructions say there should be a marking on the plastic somewhere showing where to drill... This is why I was reluctant to freestyle it, but it sounds like that's the way to go.
