Hello, I have a new 3.0 Litre VE Series II Commodore with a 1600 kg towbar fitted. Whilst looking at accessories on the Holden website I noticed this listing. Tow cooling auxiliary kit $250 * Increases towing capacity from 1200kg to 1600kg for 3.0L V6. Requires 1600kg towbar package designed specifically for your vehicle. It appears that the 3.0 Litre vehicle can not tow any more than 1200 kg without fitting the "Tow Cooling Auxiliary Kit". I have a 4 metre pop top caravan which comes in a bit over 1200 kg. Does anybody know what the "Tow Cooling Auxiliary Kit" is?? Is it a larger fan or more likely a small transmission cooler. The local dealer couldn't help. They admit that they have sold lots of 1600 kg towbars but had not heard of the "Tow Cooling Auxiliary Kit". Has anybody seen or heard of this??? Cheers, Oldace.
when you find out, please let the rest of us know ... I have a 3.0, and when I got my tow bar fitted, the Holden dealer never mentioned at 1600 kg was an option.
Yeah I made some enquiries about this too. Before I started this thread (below): http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/ve-holden-commodore-2006/204418-ve-lpg-trans-cooler.html Dealer looked into it and said only the 3.0l needs the kit and it is only an upgraded fan - they seemed to think it was an additional electric fan.
