Might sound wierd, but is the valve cap on correctly?

Have the TPMS system on the VZ and a mate being a smart one put a different cap on for a giggle.
Driving home it started to alarm as a very slow leak turning to a flat, got to the servo to pump it up, found the flashing valve cap.
pumped it up, and took off that cap (must have just been able to touch/press the valve stem) and it was alright.

Just another potential reason for you.

Most screw/nail type punctures can be plugged, punctures from a bolt etc means damage is terminal.

No passenger tyre can be legally plugged.....If a tyre store does this, they can be liable for any damages the car causes if the tyre fails due to internal damage....

A tyre must be removed from the rim to be inspected for any signs of damage to the sidewall...Once it is deemed safe to repair, it must have a mushroom plug, which is a plat piece of rubber, with a tubular piece of rubber sticking up wards (it's shaped like a mushroom) fitted, so no moisture can enter the hole in the tyre, where a foreign object has entered...Moisture in a hole that has been created by a foreign object can cause the steel belts to rust, therefore weaken...

A bolt in a tyre doesn't mean the tyre is cactus.....It is quite common for tyres to be punctured by bolts....As long as the mushroom plug seals the hole correctly and there is no damage to the sidewall, internally or externally, the tyre can be repaired and placed back on the car...

Is this plug-illegality a South Australian thing?

I can’t find any rules for NSW that say it’s illegal OR legal, but the NSW RMS guideline on replacement wheels & tyres from 2019 says damaged tyres must be “replaced or repaired” (and I can’t think of other ways you can repair a tyre?) and there’s a Bob Jane T-Marts website page from 2019 that also talks about repairing tyres if it’s deemed possible (and a large chain like that would be very wary of saying/recommending something illegal).

TPMS tells OP his pessures low, OP attempts to correct pressure, pressure drops again.. OP's first instinct is to create a profile to ask people online who cant even see the tyre what the problem is rather than seeing one of a million tyre shops?

Ill help you all out in regard to tyre repair. The centre 75% of the total tread can be repaired if the puncture will take the plug (mushroom plug from inside, not rope). In most cases the puncture is enlarged to accomodate the plug anyway so bolt, screw, nail its irrelevant as long as it can be opened up with and cleaned. The remaining section of the shoulder can not be repaired, (not to say people dont) Run flat tyres can not be repaired (again not to say people don't) Its always going to come down to the individual as to whether they feel it acceptable and safe to carry out a repair
