Hey guys, My mother has a vt with a vy engine in it some local lads changed over for her the problem is it will not idle it starts fine and runs fine providing u keep ur foot on the pedel but as soon as you release the accel it stalls and the engine light comes on a mate of mine told me its most likely something to do with the throttle sensor any advice on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I'm not to savvy with engines Cheers
Being a VT, I would first start by checking for error codes - http://forums.justcommodores.com.au/holden-commodore-how-tos/23665-checking-error-codes-vt-vx.html Might be possible something was not plugged back in. A error code check would be a good start.
try swapping the throttle body over from the old engine if ya can. also do you know if base idle has been reset?
