Hi all. Just wondering if any one has ever managed to fit traction control to a VU Maloo.

One would think its already fitted,
or the loom would be in place for it.

They did not have traction control until the VZ.

The dash in my VY has the provision for traction control to be illuminated.....So to me that says VY had the option for it to be fitted.

I'm fairly sure the son in law's VX has it fitted....Would have to double check though

Sorry, my mistake. I see the Ellery book lists VX - VZ (manual) has it. Not sure why manual is listed and not auto., however, I don't consider Ellery the last word on things, so maybe even earlier than VX models had it.

VX has traction control but only for some models and no doubt was an upgrade option on others. Having said that, the stock system is bloody aggressive at cutting power and is a right pain in the ass as it cuts power at only the slightest sign of wheel spin.

Traction control operates as part of the ABS system, cars with traction control should have the 4 channel ABS module fitted where as the other vehicles would still be using the older 3 channel system.

My VX II Berlina Wagon had Traction Control,
Because it had the button down beside the Shift.

My VY has it and with a single spinner, it was a PITA, especially at lights with a litle bit of rain on the white lines
So I replaced it with a LSD [same ratio], best option I did for it.

Thanks for that - I've been warned. Shall probably have to modify my right food action !
As an aside, I served my apprenticeship in Otahuhu (Many years ago) !!
