I know it will be difficult to get an accurate gauge here, but I'd just like to run this past you guys. Wondering roughly what I might score as a trade in for my 04 auto wagon. 86400k's New bridgestones about a year back Good nick, no dings, not thrashed. Thanks in advance
Ink You'll need to provide a bit more than that basic info. For example: Exec? Acclaim? Berlina? V6 or V8? Optional equipment? Modified? Colour?
i'm not sure so don't go with what i say, but maybe $15,000ish, seen vz sv6's selling for $19,000 with 90,000km's on them on car yards, might get more depends on what the dealer or yard thinks its it worth to them.
I reckon they would offer you 10K tops. When you can buy 03/04 SS's with under 100k for 15 - 20k, and the exec's are the pov packs you can buy for 10k on Pickles, I think you would be very hard pushed to get a good trade in. It's a little more of a hassle selling private, but will be well worth the time V the extra money you will get. UPDATE: rung a dealer the other day (cause I was making an enquiry on something else) and they said for the specs you gave, would be looking about 7k as a trade in if it was in good nick. To give you a guide.
Check Redbook! If you check Car Prices - Search Car Prices & Values Online - Red Book, they advise a trade in value in the range $6,400 to $8,000 for 80K to 130K. Private sale range is $9,000 to $10,600. Depending on how the deal/dealer is set up, you might "get" a bigger trade in rather than a big/bigger discount. When I bought a new MY09 manual SV6 last December, I got a trade in of 20% higher than the maximum redbook figure for a 2004 VYII manual sedan. Before considering the trade in, I had also negotiated a drive away price for the vehicle of $30,766. Only option was metallic paint. Now if the dealer had charged RRP, my trade in would have been more than $2,000 more than I had paid for the vehicle when new in 2004. New cars are at very competitive prices. Result is depressed used car values, which takes a little of the shine away. But still a good time to buy a Holden now.
