Hi i am new to the forum but I am here to see if anyone can help with my cars problems.
the symptoms are as follows, when under load or when gently accelerating from 90kph the car shudders and seems to lack power, when cold it will accelerate but it is not smooth (it accelerates a bit then seems to drop away then accelerates a bit more)
The trans does not like 3rd gear, if I drive it on a/s it will hesitate when trying to change from second to third (hold second for ages), when going from third to fourth it will drop out of third and then the motor revs up to about 5000 revs then it drops into fourth, similar problems when coming down through the gears too.
Sometimes it is hard to start when hot, it strains to turn over. the temp gauge never shows any overheating.
I have had the motor and gearbox computers both scanned and no faults were showing on either, The motor was replaced recently due to a faulty temp sensor (reading 40deg lower than actual temp) cooking the old motor, all the sensors etc were replaced at the same time, these same problems were there before the motor was replaced.
Any ideas on what to look at would be greatly appreciated
