    hey all,

    can anyone tell me what model the vt v6 auto transmission is?

    its called a 4L60E mate, same as the vn-vp trans (4L60) but electronically controlled (thus the "E" on the end...learn something new everyday,lol).
    there are other names for these transmissions floating about, but this is the proper one.

    like the th700 or whatever its called? so pretty much its exactly same as vn but electronic?

    vn-vp is the better trans as it hydraulic and not electric shifted, which in turn lets you rev em up and you can set all this yourself by adjusting kick down cable

    yeh i know, the vn-vp trans ****s all over the vr on trans, what im worried about is if i put a shift kit in the vt and i give the vt a bit more go (which will take a bit cos its a vt) will i be able to get the arse end to kick out like my vq used too when ya hit 2nd?

    maybe stock for stock...but do some work to the box (or even tweak with a tune) and the 4L60E ****s all over its predecessor, mod for mod.

    well im no expert, but my trans mech has assured me no matter what the
    TH700 is heaps better as it shifts from pressure not electric shift

    4L60e is a good transmission, goes hard but tend to die quick, so you got to look after them very well.
