i bought a car off a mate, we are both tryin to fix it up, while im trying to save for other expenses on it. back it the day, its was running fine until one night he had a full car and tryed to do a burnout, but dumped it to first from neutral while reving it. and ever since that when you accelerate the car starts to shudder. im pretty sure that the trans isnt slipping. so im hoping its the tail shaft or maybe even a bent axle. im not sure. we need to find the problem before we start pulling everything apart.

its an auto by the way, and if you drive it like a manual the shudder isnt as bad. e.g. 1,2,D

any ideas on what it could possibly be?
thanks.

maybe your trans mounts, have alook at the back of the trans and the cross member the trans should be about 1 1/2 inch above the crossmember.

Check out your centre bearing between the front and rear propeller shafts. The centre bearing is encased in a rubber mounting which deteriorates over time. If the rubber casing has broken away then this may be your problem.
