Well i new this day would come sooner rather then later :(

Anyhow when I boot it the trans like revs but dont move untill a few sec's later an then rips an takes off. Now I like it but the fact is I know its not suppost to do that lol. Anyhow 1st thing was check OIL so yes the oil is fine.

Any other idea's what may course this an I no Ill hear It Needs A Rebuild.
on the other hand I dont quite have enough for a rebuild but can buy a 2nd hand 1 with low k's and can test it in the car b4 buying it?

What ur opinions and suggestions plz.

The 1 i speak of is out of a Wh Stato. Should suit mine shouldnt it? Well I know Vz ones do but just have to change the line pressure to suit.

may i suggest getting the transmission serviced?
new filters, new gasket the whole deal.

got my local mechanic to do it for me for about $150.

just because its full doesnt mean a filter is jammed up with crap or something, and in the grand scheme of things its cheaper than replacing lol....

Or you could do what I did and buy a $10 bottle of auto trans treatment.
It reduces slippage for smoother changes and rejuvinates the seals.

Worked for me but its just a thought:)

    its an auto yeah?

why dont you just replace the converter instead of the whole box? Itd be the torque converter slipping

yeh go pay the $150 for a trans service, then if that doesn't work try the $10 auto trans treatment, these are better than paying anywhere up to a couple of grand for a new one.. and even a second hand transmission would be pretty expensive..

I got a second hand 1 lined up for 500 with 167,000 compared to my 250,000 and I can test while its still in the car. She is booked in for wed for a Free check lol an ill c what they come up with. if its more then I wonna know ill grab the 500 box an out it in.

Yeh auto aswell. When u drive it like revs alittle then kicks in which my 1st thought was convertor aswell. if thats the case ill thro a small stall in instead.

Go to a trans place and get them to hook in their real time diagnostics. It will show what's being commanded to happen in the box and what is actually happening in the box. Your car runs on a computer so utilise that to diagnose it.

Sounds like foward clutches to me though. If it does need a rebuild I would go that way instead of replacing it with another stocker

Welllike I said above money is tight atm as I have just moved an settling into bills and what not. so once the shop tells me whats wrong ill go from there but if she need a rebuild Ill buy a 2nd hand box for time being then rebuild mine when its out then yeh.

$1650 is from Holden in Vic BTW just so u know im not just maken bullshit prices up. but in saying that i might even be able to borrow some money from my bro an put what I have toward a rebuild I guess. As long as its not too much lol but from what I have seen theres tones of diff prices out there.

Sum1 above said it sounds like the convertor if thats the case lol Should I throw a stall in it instead ?

    Just getting idea's aswell guys.

    Thanks

Either way I would chuch at least a 3500 stallie in front of the box. It's one of those things. Also check if you have a rear main leak and be ready to replace the rear plate too since the box will be out.

Well the box is stuffed so a rebuild is the go booked in on monday an at a good price of 1650 which like always I was expecting 2000 at least for some reason.

I could go the 2nd hand box for 500 an then throw a 3000 stallie in but who knows that could go within weeks knowing my luck. So rebuild is the go at this point, Stally will be when the engine comes out for the rebuid aswell.

Just a rebuild mate. Stallie will be later when the engine comes out for a rebuild as the funds are tight NOW lol.

for that price it would be a bare basic rebuild, i personally would have bought a brand new box for that money. i paid 3000 for my fully built 4l60e, the only thing that wasnt changed was the input shaft.

The price difference between a stock rebuilt 4L60, and the 4L60 with stage 2 shift kit, corvette servo, corvette sun gear, and boost valve I ended up with was $100... Might pay to ask about a bit of a trick up. :)
